During the fertile phase, avoid sexual relations once there is a change from dryness to wetness, either mucus is seen or a slippery wet sensation is felt. Pregnancy may result from sexual relations or even genital contact any day before the peak and the 3 full days which follow it.
At first the mucus is sticky and dense and may be a slightly creamy color. As the days pass, the mucus becomes clearer, more elastic and fluid and feels wet and slippery. Most women are aware of a definite feeling of lubrication at the vaginal opening.
Then a change takes place and the mucus becomes cloudy and sticky and the wet, slippery sensation disappears altogether. Other times there is a change to complete dryness.
The peak day is the last day before the change takes place. Look for this change to identify peak day.
